relaxing option after a long flight.
Just look for for this guy holding the Rosemead Guest House sign at the meeting area in arrivals.

If you want to make your own way the cheapest and most direct alternative
is probably by bus.
Go to Heathrow central bus station (follow the signs) and pick up a 111,
285 or 726 to Cromwell Road, Kingston.
On arrival, walk back in the direction of Kingston Station (which you will
just have passed) turn first left into Clarence Street then first right into
Eden Street.
Walk down Eden Street until you come to the bus stop for the Claygate
service which is K3.
This is around an 8 minute walk.
Take the K3 to Telephone Exchange, Hare Lane, Claygate ( first stop after
passing under Railway Bridge at Claygate) and continue walking down
Hare Lane for a another 100 yards until you come to Rosemead on the left.

pick up the Gatwick Express for London Victoria, change at Clapham Junction

Take the Airlink transfer coach to Heathrow Airport central bus station and
then proceed as 1.1 or 1.2.

Follow the signs to Stanstead Airport station (its right below the terminal)
and pick up a train to London Liverpool Street, then follow the signs to
underground, take a Circle Line train to Embankment and their change to
a Northern or Bakerloo Line train southbound to Waterloo.
At Waterloo take a Guildford via Cobham train to Claygate.

Follow the signs for Luton Station and then take a Thameslink train to
London Kings Cross or London Bridge, then follow the signs to underground.
From Kings Cross take a southbound Victoria Line train to Warren Street then a southbound Northern Line train to Waterloo or from London Bridge take a southbound Northern Line train to Elephant and Castle then a northbound Bakerloo Line train to Waterloo.
Both options then proceed as 3.2.

By contrast all the Airlink services run 24 hours with peak frequencies of 2 an hour throughout the day, dropping to 1 an hour and 1 every 2 hours on the Stanstead and Luton services respectively between 12 midnight and 5am.
